Pastor Elliot Gwaza is a founding member of this community group as well as a widely known ordained minister of religion who is deeply involved with the Zimbabwean community.
He holds a Master’s degree in Theological Studies from the Canada Christian College, and a Bachelor of Theology degree from the Whole Truth Bible College in Zimbabwe.
Pastor Gwaza is a registered counselor and marriage officer who has counseled and married several couples in and outside of the Zimbabwe community.

He is also a social worker who holds professional diplomas in Drug and Alcohol, and another in Social Work/Psychology from the Stratford Career Institute. Pastor Gwaza is the community group Chair.

Kuthula Matshazi is a committed community volunteer having previously worked with York University’s CHRY 105.5FM radio station to promote African programming. He hosted an African current news program, and served on the board culminating as chair of the radio station Board of Directors. A journalist of 15 years, Kuthula worked as a Communications Manager for the Confederation of Zimbabwe Industries. He is currently a management consultant in Toronto with a global consultancy firm. His professional experience includes, Corporate Communications, Project Management, Organizational Design, Strategy and Deployment, Governance Review, Performance Measurement, Policy Planning.He holds a Master’s Degree in Globalization Studies from McMaster University, a Diploma in Journalism from CCOSA, Harare and is completing a professional course in Municipal Administration Program with the Association of Municipal Managers, Clerks and Treasurers of Ontario. Kuthula is responsible for the Treasury Portfolio, as well as that of Communications and Marketing.

Mr Vusomuzi Moyana has been working in the banking industry for the past 10 years, specializing in change management, commercial banking and commercial communications. He is a previous board member and elder at St Andrews United Church and member, Journeys of Black Peoples in the United Church of Canada. He is also a director of ZimAlternative Cultural Association.  He will assist with the Bereavement Fund, which seeks to provide emotional support, spiritual, financial and other assistance to members and their families in the event of death of a family member.

Ian Ncube is veteran educationist with more than 15 years of experience teaching at the most respected high schools in Zimbabwe, notable Mpopoma High in Bulawayo. Here in Canada, Ian is working for a multinational engineering company as a Computer Numerical Control (CNC) programmer. He has previous experience in machine building. Ian has been involved with the community group for the past ten years and served as its chair. His vision is to see a succession of new and energetic members taking the organization forward.
He is the past chair who has joined the board as a mentor, to provide the necessary continuity in a transition.

Linda Ncube is a Community Development professional with over five years of experience working in the community both in the Global South and Global North. Her experience includes partnership building, evaluation, community research, project management, grant management, outreach and capacity building. Her educational background includes a Business Diploma from Centennial College, an Honours BA in Sociology and Equity Studies from the University of Toronto and she is currently working on completing her MA in Sociology.
Linda believes in giving back to community and helping the less privileged. She frequently participates in fund raising activities such as the Toronto women’s marathons and the CN Tower climb to raise money for charity. Linda is responsible for the Social Events Portfolio.

Xolisiwe Ndlovu currently works as a Social Worker for a Not for Profit Agency in Toronto. She holds a Bachelor of Science Psychology degree, a Diploma in Media and Public Relations, and another one in Social Services Work. She is a strong, passionate community activist, committed to working with Unionists and many social movement groups that focus on equality and equity for all marginalized visible minorities, immigrants and Aboriginal Peoples of Canada. Xoli is a member of the Racial Justice Committee and International Solidarity Committee in the Union.
She is the community group secretary-general. As secretary, she is responsible for ensuring that accurate and sufficient documentation exists to meet legal requirements, and to enable authorized persons to determine when, how, and by whom the executive committee’s business was conducted. She records minutes of meetings, ensures their accuracy, and availability, proposes policies and practices, submits various reports to the executive committee, and maintains membership records.

Likwa Nkala is an Outreach and Resource Development Specialist with East Metro Youth Services’ Violence Intervention Program since June 2001. The program introduced him to youth led anti-violence initiatives in Scarborough such as engaging youth at East end subway stations and connecting them to Employment, recreation or counseling programs. Likwa worked as an outreach worker for two years before transitioning to coordinate the program that had been his introduction to youth work. Drawing on his business background and training, he has helped establish the provincially funded Youth Outreach Worker Program, leading seven of the City’s 13 priority neighbourhoods.
Likwa has extensive experience in facilitation. He has also served on the boards of Culturelink and the African Social Development Council. He has been a member of working groups consulting with the Ministry of Children and Youth Services on youth and gangs and the Evaluation of Toronto Community Housing.
Likwa believes in the power of engaging members of a given community to be the facilitators of change for themselves. He is responsible for the Fundraising Portfolio.

Dumoluhle Siziba (Dumo) is a lawyer based in Toronto. He graduated from York University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 2006, having been a member of the Dean’s Honour Roll at Glendon College. In 2010, Dumo graduated with a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from Osgoode Hall Law School. After finishing law school, Dumo articled with a reputable criminal defense law firm in Toronto.
He has recently opened his own law firm, specializing in criminal law, immigration law, and community organizing. His guiding principles are expressed in his firm’s motto “Probitas, ferreus opus quod prosperitas per Deus” (Honesty, hard work and prosperity through God). Dumo has previous experience working with housing co-ops, community and non profit organizations. He hopes to transfer his social involvement efforts into helping the Zimbabwe community establish an organization that will provide a strong social support system to its members. Dumoluhle is responsible for the Education Portfolio.
