A new Executive Committee of eight members was elected on October 22, 2011 at the Zimbabwe Canadian Support Group Annual General Meeting held in Toronto. The new Executive Committee term runs until October, 2013.
Rev. Elliot Gwaza, the Chair is optimistic that the community has elected a competent team that will take the organization forward, "The members who have accepted the challenge to revitalize the community group are a dedicated and well qualified team to lead the community group into the future".

The team, (pictured above) is currently establishing internal administrative structures, and is now making preparations to engage members on the way forward. It is critical that members play a central role in defining the kind of services that the community group should offer to members. According to Rev. Gwaza, members will not only make their voices heard, but they will have an opportunity to participate in implementing the community group’s activities. The other initiatives being implemented include: developing communication tools to enhance communication with membership, and engaging in strategic planning.
